About Aroma de Café
Aroma de Café is a one-room cabin for two on a coffee farm outside Monteverde, with an indoor jacuzzi beside the bed and a deck that looks over the coffee plants toward the valley. It suits couples who want privacy and a slow morning, and remote workers who want fast Wi-Fi with a view. The cabin is 15 to 20 minutes by car from Santa Elena.
The cabin is clad in wood inside, with a queen bed under pendant lights, a wall-mounted TV, and a two-person jacuzzi in the same room behind a frosted glass screen. The bathroom has a stone-tiled rain shower, a wood vanity and hot water. A kitchenette along the window has a two-burner cooktop, a toaster oven, a microwave, a coffee maker with the farm's own coffee, a sink and a small dining table for two. Sliding glass doors open the whole front of the cabin to the deck, where a bench faces the plantation, and a rope net stretched over the slope is the spot guests lie on to watch the hills. A fire pit, a BBQ grill and an outdoor dining area are outside, and parking is private.
The four reviews so far are all five stars, and one guest extended a few nights into ten days. They describe the view over the coffee and the hills, how secluded and clean the cabin is, the net, and the Tres Mares team, who met one couple in person, gave recommendations and arranged a taxi when language was a problem. Breakfast at the farm cafe and the self-guided coffee walk are the other two things people mention.
Bring a warm layer: Monteverde is cool at night. The access road is gravel and bumpy, and a standard car handles it; one guest without four-wheel drive confirmed it. Water pressure at the kitchen sink is low. The jacuzzi takes time to heat, and one early guest reported it never got hot. If it matters to your stay, say so when you book and we will check it before you arrive. Check-in runs from 15:00 to 23:00, the cabin is for two, and pets are not allowed.
Tres Mares and the farm team coordinate check-in in person. Early check-in from 11:00 is possible when the cabin is clean, and you can leave luggage while the clean finishes; ask on WhatsApp the day before. We also help book night tours in Monteverde, and the farm offers a coffee experience on request.

Getting there
Monteverde is about three hours by car from San José (SJO) or Liberia (LIR). From Santa Elena the farm is 15 to 20 minutes by car; the last stretch is gravel and bumpy, but in our experience any vehicle can manage it and a guest without four-wheel drive agreed. Arrive in daylight the first time, since the farm entrance is not well signed, and follow the directions we send rather than the map pin, which places the cabin in Abangares. Guests without a car have used taxis from Santa Elena, and we have arranged one for guests who did not speak Spanish. Airbnb shares the exact address after booking; the check-in window is 15:00 to 23:00, so a late arrival works if you tell us the time.

“This was one of the best Airbnb accommodation experiences I ever had. The place was beautiful, cozy, and peaceful. There is a cafe within the property where you can request for breakfast, a self guided tour at the coffee farm.”

Frequently asked about Aroma de Café
Is there a jacuzzi and is it private?
Yes, a two-person jacuzzi inside the cabin, next to the bed behind a frosted glass screen, for you alone. It takes time to heat. One early guest reported it never got hot, so if the jacuzzi is the reason you are booking, say so and we will check it before you arrive.
How far is the cabin from Santa Elena?
About 15 to 20 minutes by car. By our count, the main tours, hanging bridges and restaurants are minutes away by car. There is nothing within walking distance except the farm cafe and trails.
Is the road paved?
No. The last stretch is gravel and bumpy, but in our experience any vehicle can arrive and a guest without four-wheel drive confirmed it. Arrive in daylight the first time so you find the farm entrance.
Is there a kitchen and coffee?
A kitchenette with a two-burner cooktop, toaster oven, microwave, sink and coffee maker, and yes, the coffee is the farm's own. The cafe on the property serves breakfast on request, and a coffee experience can be arranged.
Is it cold at night?
Cool, not cold. Monteverde sits high, and we recommend a coat for the evenings. The jacuzzi and the hot shower help. Days are mild and the deck gets sun.
Can we check in early or leave our bags?
Yes, on request. Check-in is from 15:00, but when the cabin is clean we let you in from 11:00; if not, you can leave your bags and walk the coffee trails while it is finished. Ask on WhatsApp the day before.
Is the Wi-Fi fast enough for work?
Yes. The listing shows fast Wi-Fi, and one guest stretched a short stay into ten days. The dining table for two is the work desk, with the coffee plants outside the window.
